    Question about custom stocks

I have a Remmy CDL .257 Wthby Mag and was considering getting a custom stock for it. More than likely a thumb hole stock. I was looking at the Boyd's stocks and they look pretty nice but am open to others. My question is, will I be able to take off the other one and put on the new one? I am not a gunsmith by any means so if it costs me a couple bucks to take it to someone and have it put on, I'm cool with that. Second question is about accuracy. This will be a hunting gun, not for target or long range shooting. I don't take super long shots and if I can get half inch groups I am good, I am not trying to punch a single hole with 3 shots at 200yrds. Just wondering if there was any improvement or decrease in accuracy with a new custom stock?

    thanks!

No bedding block, probably no change in accuracy. It's just the two screws to change. Boyds do nothing for me (thumb holes in general)

Check out kkc. They're real comfy and I think they look cool

I have a Boyd's on my .223 and I don't know if it changed accuracy but it's under 3/4" @ 100 with nosler varmageddon ammunition

Laminate stocks are heavier than regular wood stocks due to glue used to bond wood layers

Wood is not impervious to weather and POI may shift if hunting in wet conditions

Pillar and glass bedding insures 100% contact and improves accuracy

I saw a slight increase in accuracy when I put a boyds on my win model 70 .270 just dropped it in with nothing special done to it or any fitting coming from a cheap synthetic to the laminated stock thumbhole stock.
