Reloading Newbie Help

Need advice on places to look for gunpowder either online or DFW area. I know that can be tough right now. I was looking for Hogdon Varget but any advice on other powders to try would be much appreciated. It's for .308. Thanks in advance for the help.

I like 4064.... It is not far off the burn rate of Varget, and only slightly more temperature sensitive.

I use 155 palmas and 47gn of 4064 to make a great 1000 yard round... YMMV

I use IMR 4064 and it is a little easier to find than Varget.

There is a gun shop on Beltline and 30 called B&S guns that I always try to stop at when in Mesquite. They sell some reloading supplies.

Gibsons in weatherford seems to keep some. I haven't been there in a while, but I've always been able to find something that would work.

I also used IMR 4064 recently for .308 reloading. I found 41 grains behind a Sierra Game King 165 grain SBT worked the best so far.

There's a thousand recipes for 4064! Try it and if you dont like the way it shoots in 308 chances are you will find another round to run it in.

4064 is a great powder for 308. Varget, Reloder 15, and a long list of others work well.

My favorite load for 4064 is:
Win case,
Fed 210 GMM,
43.6 gn 4064
