Scope Comparison: SWFA vs ??

Looks like I am picking up 110 FCP HS Precision and need to now decide on glass. I have a Mk 4 M1 on my M40 clone but wanting to go with MIL/MIL turrets on this one. I have about $1600 to spend on glass.

I have always been a Leupold guy and I see that the Mk 4 is now available with the M5 turrets so that would fit my bill. I keep hearing and reading lots of good things about the SWFA 5-20 x50HD. Most folks rate it higher than everything until you step up to the USO, S&B, Mk 6, ect. I know alot of folks on here like Vortex but most of my research shows the SWFA to beat it across the board.

Any of you guys have any experience you can convey?

I have 2 swfa scopes... they are great. 100% on tracking. I shoot them a lot.. i dont have hd glass in mine... mine dont work at night under spot lights... but thats either the non hd glass, 40mm objective, or probabbly both... i havent heard anything bad about the 5-25 though... you can buy a nightforce for that price though. Id go nightforce or swfa...

I have a swfa 3-9x and a bushnell elite tactical 3-12x (and a 1-6.5x and 4.5-30x). Comparing the two I'd say the SWFA has just slightly better glass, but the swfa reticle is not my favorite. I've also got a 1-4x vortex which I like a lot. I'd say any of those companies make a good scope in your price range.

Are you specifically looking for first focal plane? Do you want things like zero stops, turret locks, illumination?

Never really used a FFP much as our Unertl's were fixed 10x but I like the idea so yeah, FFP would be nice. Main thing is I want clear glass and a rock solid erector. I have several bro's that are still operating and they think the Nightforce glass is overrated but they are comparing them to S&B's. I EAS'd right before our unit turned in the A1's w/ Unertls for A3s with S&Bs.
