    Thoughts on 700 VTR

Was told to pick something for my bday and I'm torn between the 700 VTR and the Weatherby series 2 RC varmint. I've wanted a VTR for while, and I've always liked Weatherby. Anybody shot both? Like one or the other better?

I absolutely loved my VTR in .308. The only reason I recently sold it was because I just bought a suppressor and wanted something with a barrel already threaded. The gun was a shooter

I had a VTR. Looked great. Didn't shoot as well as I would have liked.

I've heard both sides of the VTR's accuracy.. Some loved it and some hated it. Guess I need to find someone that's got one who will let me shoot it. Lol

I had the .223 vtr with the triangle barrel and muzzle break, 10 rounds without ear protection and I was deaf for days. And the barrel took a long time to cool as well. It shot great groups though! Weatherby on the other hand, with the 22 inch barrel and some decent glass shot even better and felt better and was much easier on the ears. Love the Weatherby stocks though...

I have the 308 version and it's a shooter. It shot well then I had it accurized and it now it's a sub moa rifle.

i traded my vtr heads up for a sako m 995 in 30-378 weatherby. both guns are awesome but at 200 the vtr was deadly accurate. mine was in. .308 shooting factory 110 grain hornady taps

Sps tac + stock. Bout 80 bucks cheaper, either stock is cheap anyway probably want a new one. No triangle barrel or goofy brake thingy on the end.

                              X3 for the LTR.

I've never understood the triangle barrel thought.
