    Stoeger O/U

Has anyone had any experience with the Stoeger O/U shotguns? How do they compare to the Yildiz guns? I'm looking for an inexpensive duck gun that will be hunted....not babied.

I have a condor comp that ive beat the hell out of in the duck blind. It was CHEAP but has killed a bunch of ducks in its day. May not be as pretty as a Beretta BUT I don't whores remorse for taking it out in all the nasty...
Good bang for the buck IMHO.

        The Stoeger Condor O/U
Digin mine for about 18 years now.
        Never a problem.
A tad on the heavy side but that helps with follow through so how can that be a bad thing

I love mine! I have only gone skeet shooting with it though. Never shot a Yildiz.

Have a Condor and really like it.
I didn't at first, it was very stiff, but after tearing it down and cleaning it very good and working it for about a week it got a lot better. And as I shot it some it loosened up just right.
I don't have to worry about field scratches with it either.
Just wish my choke preferences was better.

              I'll be the dissenting view.
              1) The wood fit on my Condor was very poor.
              2) The gun fit me so poorly I had to struggle to get my head behind the bead.
              3) The stock began to split where it met the receiver.
              4) It was heavy for a field gun and had a clunky feel to it.
              5) The latch was tight and gritty and never really got better.

Granted the price was right and most of its faults I didn't even notice until someone taught me what a good fitting shotgun felt like. Since your eye is the rear sight on a shotgun, fit is paramount.

So far my Condor has done well. I pull, it shoots, the dove fall...

I have read several posts about problems with the Yildiz shotguns actually blowing apart at the receiver. I wouldn't take that risk. The one post above is the only one I have ever seen with anything bad to say about the Stoegers. Stoeger is owned by Beretta USA so you get the same R&D that goes into Benelli (also owned by Beretta USA) and Beretta

Not sure about the R&D but it IS a cheaply made copy of a Beretta made in Brazil.

If money is the driving force then knock yourself out.
I just can't say my experience was good.

I'm no shotgun snob. I've owned about ten different shotguns in my lifetime so far and the only one I can seem to kill dove with consistently is a $150 Remington Sportsmen's 48 because it fits me to a "T". I've had a Browning Lightning that cost 10x that but I had a hard time hitting Dove with it because the fit was marginal.

So again my major point is when it comes to Shotguns... Find one that fits YOU not because someone had a good or bad experience with theirs.

My boss has a Yildiz O/U. Something happens to it every time he takes it out. After seeing all his problems, I wouldn't go with the Yildiz.

I have shot the Condor and it seemed to fit me well. I took three shots at ducks with it and three ducks fell.

I have the Stoeger 3500. Just got it prior to last season. Wanted a semi-auto that I wasn't afraid to take to the coast. Love it. The one downside is it's too light. Kicks like a mule when you run three and a halves in it! But I'd buy it again.
