Buy the shed, move all lawn equipment to the shed. build new bench with locking cabinets in space from lawn stuff.
years ago my stuff was in the garage. I took two metal shelf units and ply-wooded the exterior. (doors on front) 1 side was a shelf top and bottom bolted to the other unit that had multiple metal shelves. on the one side i use 2x4's and plywood to make a half hanging clothes area other half lots of wooden shelves for small stuff.
shelf units were the 2x48x72 garage shelving units bolted together.

      Exactly.

Cost will be reflective of the size unit you choose.

Good idea on the skids. Just need to watch your width if you are going to move it, I think you can only have 102" max width without a wide load permit.

I know its not a gun safe, but for some of your other stuff that you don't want to just leave sitting around a work site box like :http://www.homedepot.com/p/RIDGID-60...9?N=5yc1vZc27g can be a pretty good option. They are meant to leave all your tools at a job site, so they are very heavily built (meets ATF standards for strongboxes for small scale explosive storage too)

I lost mine for my boy thats coming any day now. Gun safe is in master bedroom, ammo shelf is in garage, hunting gear in garage, gun cases in attic and under bed. It took awhile, but everything has a home now.

You could probably build your own out of wood from home depot for half that cost just would take quite a bit of time and labor compared to that kit. But if strapped for cash it would be worth it to have a room to work in.

Similar to this, just run you some skids under it for a portable building instead of setting it on blocks. And if everything doesn't quite line up or is air tight the expanding foam insulation in a can is your friend as is silicone.

I had to downsize from an entire basement to a 10'x11" "mancave"....my vote is take over the dining room. You lose a room, and gain some space. Call it a "family cave" to keep your wife from burying you. Next house we move to will have to be a 4 br since the boys are getting older and will need their space. Good luck on the space crunch. I made it work with some Rubbermaid tubs and shelves. It works, but don't have more than 2 people in the room at the same time, something or someone always gets bumped into or steps on the lab....
