    22lr pistol

I want to buy a 22lr pistol and read great reviews online about the Browning Buckmark. Anyone like it or prefer something else?

Also, online in the reviews, the msrp is $429. However, they are $299 at academy right now. Am I missing something?

I have a Buckmark and a Ruger with a bull barrel. Both are great pistols. I put a set of wood grips with a thumb rest on the Ruger and I shoot it a little better but that is just personal preference. The Buckmark is a great pistol.

Buy it. Buckmark is what I own and it's one of very few that will cycle cheap ammo

Either a buckmark or a ruger 22/45. Ive had both. I prefer the ruger but you cant go wrong with either.

My Ruger 22/45 LITE cycles thunderbolt, thats the cheap stuff! Its a pain the the arse to field strip and assemble. Best .22 handgun on the market bar none!

I have the ruger also. Take the magazine safety bar out. Lots easier to strip. No magazine in and out repeatedly. Also u can use the lip of the magazine (where the bullets go in) to reach in and pull the top of the spring lever.

I also put in a valcortsen trigger and hammer bushing (for removing matter safety). Sweet shooting gun.

Thanks y'all. Are there different versions of the buckmark that would make the price swing by that much? One version better than another?

Maybe they are just making more room for a shipment of rugers! Haha, sorry im a huge ruger fan!

Buckmark fan here. It feels better in my hand than the ruger. It has been an awesome shooter.

Looks like you want a semi auto, but my Ruger single Ten is my favorite pistol I own.

I have had a Browning Buckmark for 15 + years. It is a very accurate sweet shooter and likes any ammo you feed it. That Academy price is a good option and price.
