Looking at the calibers you already have I'd go with the .308

The 6.5 x 47 would be my pick. With 130 gr Beregrs, mine is a shooter.

You need to read more on the XC then. Longevity is part of its design with the long neck.

243 is more of a barrel burner than the XC. Since you are worried about burning a barrel up, rule out anything AI. For deer, the 6br is a little light. I would go with 7-08 over a 308 and 6.4x47 over the 7-08.

                  no brainer .... 6BR , 1:8" twist, Lapua brass, 105 Berger VLD's

so easy to load for and stupid accurate ; Ray Charles could shoot .2's all day long with a BR

Trophy i read your post wrong... for some reason when i read your post i read 6 slr in my head... yeah the xc is slightly longer than or about the same as a 6x47 lapua.

Blake im building a 6 dasher bench gun.

Ive been told by a few that the 6br wont load as easily from a mag.... no expert but i can see that cuz its shorter...

Going with a DBM set up? I've heard that too about the 6br.
