I was talking about a reloading set up. I've got more than that in just a stock!!
Somehow they let me out of college with such reading comprehension.

Yeah, my XLR carbon alone was pushing $900. Long range rifles make my AR-15s feel cheap

So far I know that I'm going to build off a Remington 700 SA with a bartlein 5R barrel, hs precision bottom metal, jewel trigger, B&C tactical medalist 3 stock, badger extractor kit, oversized recoil lug, badger bolt handle and knob!

      How's that looking?

The 6.5 Creedmore factory Hornady ammo is good quality.

This would be my caliber suggestion, if shooting factory ammo....

Upgrade the stock if you can.

Also, if you plan on tricking out that 700 action like that, just buy a stiller. Everything is already done to the stiller. No trueing needed, oversized bolt knb already on it, fluted bolt, wire edm machined so its perfect. pinned recoil lug. M16 extractor. It costs about the same in the end but you have a better action in the stiller.

watch building on a short action if you plan on shooting VLD bullets you may run into problems with them not fitting in your magazine. And why are you going with a oversized recoil lug?

It is not always needed to spend tons of money on a custom bolt gun to get long range accuracy. I run factory Remington 700P rifles in .308 and they shoot better than most shooters can do. 1000 yards is not a problem at all with them. My favorite is my factory Remington 700 Sendero in .300 win mag. It is capable of reaching 1800 yards. The only thing I have done to that gun is chop the barrel a little, and put it in a McMillen A5 stock. Both models of guns shoot better than I can and for me spending the money on a custom gun is not needed. I would spend the extra cash on quality glass. That is the area where most shooters skimp.

That would be my choice on a budget. You can find deals on a used one.

The only B&C I would buy is the a5. It's just heavy
