The remington factory triggers are awesome... When they are safe. Of course, the newer rifles all have unsafe triggers. For that reason, I'd probably go with a Jewel. I've also considered buying a Kepplinger single set. On my older rifle, I was able to tune the trigger (safely) down to about 1-1.5 pounds. Like I said, they're excellent factory triggers, when they are safe

I have a timney in my rem 700 long range build. I adjusted the trigger down to 14oz-16oz and it breaks like glass. Love that trigger and though I don't have much trigger time with other companies I can't imagine wanting anything else as I am satisfied.

          ????????

Oh, so they're excellent triggers until they fire unexpectedly, that doesn't make sense?

Talked to the gunsmith today about the remington triggers, he said they were good, and safe, triggers as far as factory triggers go. The problems come into play when they are improperly adjusted. At low tension the springs do not always function properly and that sometimes the adjustment set screws will loosen over time after adjustment.

After seeing the reviews here I did have him order me a Jewell today for a rifle I'm having him blueprint and re-barreled.
