    Savage or Remmy?

I've got the itch for a new smoke pole. I'm a 700 guy through an through as I have a couple M40 long action clones and played tag with haji without any complaints. I wanting a 308 and naturally gravitated to the 700P with the 5R barrel but I keep hearing good stuff about the savages.

So....Savage 10FCP 5R or the Remmy.? I don't have the time anymore to tweak and play so I'm looking for a 600yd rifle that I can run M118LR or something equivalent and keep them center mass in an Echo silhouette of the shelf. Fire away.....

I am in the same boat. I am leaning toward savage because I can change the barrels myself.

Savage has come a long way and people are getting really good accuracy out of them.

Personally, I like Remmy as the bolt action is smoother. just my 2ct

I've got several friends with savages and they love them and swear by them.

I'll be getting a savage soon.

I can't see a bad choice there, sorry no help.

I will say being a recent savage convert the 700 is much easier to find aftermarket goodies for with three times available the options.

The savage will have a better factory trigger. If it's not too much more money, look at one of the model 12 target actioned rifles. Worth every penny.

If previous 700 models are there, YES. Plus you have more out there to do whatever you want.

If new in the box today, I'd go savage. Just know that there is not as much out there yet.

                    Wetherby S2? YES as well.

You prob already bought exactly what you wanted, modified it, and happy with it.

Go ahead and tell us what you did.

You served overseas. How many savage rifles did you see over there?

Im a remington and remington close fan myself. I have certainly given savage its fair chance. Neither is a bad choice.
