    9x18 Macov something?

Buddy of mine is wanting to sell this old Russian pistol. I think it's called something close to what I put in the title. Has a Holster made for it and an extra clip. Has 2 clips. Holds 8 rounds. He says it's like between a .380 and a 9mm.

Anyone know anything about them ?

If you can find surplus ammo for it it should be pretty cheap to shoot. Basically a slightly more potent 380acp

Thanks. And thanks for the camera mount. But.... mine didn't come w/directions. lol.

Is that pistol any good ? I know about as much about pistols as I do shotguns. And I missed a trky last yr at 20 yards w/a 12 ga, if that explains anything. Bows are much easier weapons to use!

I want something to pop off at hogs when I run across them in the dark, on the way to/from the stand, lol. Would it even slow one down? Bullets look tiny, to me.

I used to have one and liked it very much. It was a great truck gun.

The only good gun the russians ever made in my opinion. How much is he selling it for. You can look around on gun broker but i've seen em for about $350. If you replace the hammer spring with a "wolf" spring they make a darn good CCR pistol. A bit more recoil than any other .380 you've ever shot but the barrel is pinned to the frame so it doesnt move at all, makes for a very accurate pistol with a 3" barrel.

Good little guns when you can find them. Easy to break down to clean. I have heard of putting several thousand rounds thru one without cleaning and still have no jams or failures.

If you don't buy let me know how much he is asking.
                  Might be interested.

I should add that it ate any ammo I put through it and never jammed. The thumb safety was also easy to work and the gun was easy to field strip. The only downside for me was that it's a tad heavy being all steel and good self defense ammo is hard to find.

I'll be making an installation video for the website I guess I thought it was pretty self explanatory. Are you having trouble with it?

There are several comm-bloc guns chambered in the 9x18 makarov and most were military issue and reliable. I've got a Cz82 and it is one f the most reliable semi-autos I have owned. You can get high quality self-defense ammo and cheap "plinking" stuff mail order.
