    Kidd barrel and suppressor problem

I have a ruger charger that I put a threaded 6" kidd bull barrel on. I have a friend who got his spectre can in that he has been shooting on a savage bolt .22. I asked if I could see what my charger would sound like suppressed but when I went to put the can on it threaded smoothly for two to three turns but then was difficult. I didn't want to mess up threads on my barrel or his can so I didn't force the issue and just took it off. The suppressor goes on smooth on his rifle as well as my thread protector but something is up with my barrel threads I believe. There doesn't appear to be any burrs on it and it threads my protector on easy but this won't work when my suppressor finally does show up. Any ideas ????

Who threaded it? Wrong thread pitch?

Whoever did it may have cut it wrong. They probably made the thread protector based off of the threads they also cut. So that explains the thread protector working and not the can

It came from kidd threaded .... One of the reasons I bought the barrel

Kidd cuts the threads a little deeper I think.

If the threads are too deep what can be done if anything to remedy that

Call Kidd about it and may need to send the barrel back to have the threads checked. A friend of mine had a problem with his Kidd trigger not resetting. Found out he lived a couple miles from him near New Braunfels. Had him take it to his house and made it perfect.

If it were your suppressor just muscle it on a time or two would do it. Its not a major difference.

FYI, if you do this, your gonna jack up the threads on your can lol.

Send it to KIDD to check it. Id bet its messed up threads. It happens.

Sometimes barrels are threaded too long, or some cans don't have as deep as threads this doesn't allow the can to seat against the shoulder of the barrel. I ran into this problem with a rimfire. My solution was a new target crown win, win.

My suggestion is to wait and see how your can fits on it.

Threads are prolly to deep as stated above. Call Tony he will make it right. If the threads get messed up on either side it could cost you a can or barrel.

It will likely be sometime before the can shows up since it was submitted late march but I hate the idea of waiting to see if it fits….because if it doesn't then I have the suppressor and nothing really to shoot it with.

I have a email into Kidd to see what he things…. will let y'all know

Oh theres a simple answer to that... Buy another host!!! hell Buy 2!

When my can came in I have 4-5 rimfires ready to go... Only 1 had any problems so I simply shot something else until I could get the problem fixed. Surely you know what safes are for .

I am building a savage fv-sr at the moment so that will come into play I am sure…. hopefully it threads and shoots smoothly

Kidd told me that they thread their barrels with a .475 depth and the spectre II needs a .400….they said send it to them and they will fix my threads for just the cost of return shipping and should be back in a few weeks. I can live with that
