Myself and a gunsmith/machinist buddy are doing these. We are working on doing a picatinny rail mounted on the barrel just forward of the receiver for a red dot or extended eye relief scope. Have not got that done yet, both of us are just to busy with other work.

Are you using the factory sights or did you have to raise them up to get over the can? How well can you see you target with the can on it?

Factory sight is almost too short. It really needs to be replaced with taller front to see a good sight picture over can.

I'm hoping I won't have an issue with the sights using an Osprey can.

With Osprey you should be ok with factory sights. It has a smaller OD if I remember correctly.

Well it's oblong shaped and can be indexed to hang below the barrel. I have nor problem seeing over the can with my factory sights on my 1911's. My M&P 45 does get a little interference though.

I correct myself, I was thinking of a different can. We don't handle Osprey so I was not familiar with the exact size. Yes it should work with out needing to change sight. Just for your info, on our next ones we are planning on moving the barrel band behind the front sight and shortening the mag tube some more to allow for more thread area if needed. The only thing we have found is that depending on caliber if there is enough barrel diameter and "meat" in the barrel for threads on certain caliber cans.. Some barrels are just to thin walled to cut threads and be safe.

Well I dropped the gun off at my smith Saturday.

I verified with Silencerco that I can use my Osprey can on 357 mag and 45LC as long as the barrel is at least 16" long.

Having it threaded .578x28 so I can use my 45 piston on both.

It looks funky on a pretty gun like that, but it makes me wanna thread my Marlins. Let us know if it reduces recoil any.
