New project idea, need feedback

I picked up a Rossi 92 20" stainless 357 mag recently and its a dang handy little rig. Has anyone ever had a lever gun barrel threaded to be able to attach a can? I'm sure a competent smith can do it and I have a good one but looking for someone who may have already done it. I would use my Osprey 45 can with a 1/2-28 piston.



I played around with mine the other day. Looks like if you remove the barrel band, you could remove and shorten the magazine tube. A notch would have to be machined in the barrel for the screw to go back through. There's also another divot that would have to be drilled because there is a small spring loaded detent that helps hold the tube from moving around too much. Most likely would have to recut a dove tail for the front sight in order to move it back as well.

Any thoughts?

LOL I have a guy that can do it, I was just wanting feedback from someone that HAD done it.

I would keep the front sight but I think it would have to move back. There's probably less than 1/2" of barrel in front of the sight.

Hmmmm. I also have a 454 Casull model. I don't think my can is rated for that pressure but 45LC would probably work.

Did not have to move front sight. Shorten mag tube and reposition barrel band. This is done for the ACC tyrant 45 acp suppressor. Threaded .578x28.
