Hey guys I need some help with finding out if I can take the piece circled in yellow off and if I can what part do I need to get to replace it just put the quad rail on and the scope and the light/laser just need to get that front piece off thanks in advance

That's your gas block/iron sight combo. Couple little pins on the bottom you need to hammer out then replace with a Low pro.

You can a long as the flash hider isn't pinned. Just unscrew flash hider, knock out pins and replace w low pro gas block. Plenty of videos on you tube showing how.

You can also cut the sight off and use the original. Probably easier just to replace it

I ordered a Larue low profile gas block. Had a gunsmith change it out for me. Looks factory

If the pins are tapered, you need to make sure you knock them out the correct direction. if you can't knock them out, just split them at the bottom and they should just fall out.

I may not understand exactly what your end goal is here... If your looking for a railed gas block or you want to run a longer rail system?

You have lots of options! If you haven't removed or replaced a front sight post it can be a pain... The pins are hard to get out sometimes. The most important part is when you put the new gas block on you must be sure you line up the gas port in the barrel with the gas port in the gas block! If your Alignment is off the gun will not cycle. Here are pics I found online. Tell exactly what you are tryin to do.

Do you feel like you getting a haze in the scope from your front sight? I have a M-223 on mine and sometimes I feel light I can see it. I thought about taking mine off also.
