    First javelina recovery

It was an exciting hunt. After a not so perfect shot at about 90 yards my catahoula Bo got on his trail , there was no blood but Bo new exactly where he went. Less that a minute after Bo got on his trail we heard Bo barking and the javelina snapping his teeth. He was cornered. The javelina made a break for it but Bo was on his tail, and soon bayed him once again. This time 10 yards away and within in a shooting lane. 3 more shots were fired and he was hit once more. The javi took off again this time he would've ran into me if I haven't jumped back... Into cactus. Ouch!! The 2 more running shots didn't work lol but Bo soon bayed him again and after 2 more shots the javelina took a dirt nap. It was exciting and happy to get this man how first javi. They are tough for their size.. The fleas are another story!..

You want to have a story about fleas.......sling him over your shoulder, then you'll have something to talk about.
            Congratulations on a nice Javi

We used a vinegar/water mix in a pump up sprayer this weekend to run them off the javiz. It worked great.

Thanks.. He did love it! He's only 6 months old and it was his first attempt at baying something but he has tracked before.. He always impresses me and his drive is awesome.

Great write up. Congrats on the recovery. Most handlers will tell you to be careful around the javis they can wreck havoc on a dog. We had to stitch up one of our pointers this past season due to a Javi attack. Sounds like you have a good one in Bo good luck this coming season. Thanks for sharing.
