Anyone around Houston have a sight tool for an older Sig Sauer?

My wife has a 20 year old Sig P228.

She had trouble shooting accurately with it when she did her annual qualification at the dept. range. She was constantly hitting left. I decided to try it out a few weeks ago and my groups were tight and to the left as well.

I'm not really a gun guy but I know the rear sight needs to have the windage adjusted a bit.

Are the tools available at a reasonable price or should I take it to a gunsmith? It would be ideal to be able to shoot it while adjusting it to get it fine tuned. Anyone around Houston have a tool that would work?

I'm not sure if they are universal or gun-specific.

Thanks for any advice or help.

What do you need to do the job, just a regular sight pusher?

I'm not sure. That's what I was hoping someone would know....are the sight pushers gun-specific (like glock only, sig only) or are they universal.

The one I have is universal. As long as you need a sight pusher and not some special tool.

Ok. I'll research it and try to find out. Thanks.

Edit: Looks like it needs a Sig Sauer sight adjustment tool for the Classic Models (they have a SigPro model as well).

Looks like it will be kentucky windage for awhile.

Check the grip before you go moving the sights. None of the trigger finger should touch the frame of the pistol. Just the tip of the trigger finger should touch the trigger. If the trigger finger drags on the frame you will push the shot left for a RH shooter. You can usually diagnose this problem by dry firing and watching where the muzzle is going when you break the shot.

I don't think you are too far from Ike and I would bet he could fix you up. Either that or maybe try your luck at Carters Country.

If they aren't nite sites a hammer and brass punch are all you need. Move the site in the direction you want the group to go.

My sight tool is universal I just have to change out the shoes for the different guns. I have one that will fit it.

PM me and we can work it out.
