16.5" vs 20" barrel .308

Well even though I know I will lose a little muzzle velocity, I think I am pretty set on getting the barrel shortened. Doing this because it gets it to 25" overall length with suppressor and will get the weight down to what it is now without suppressor. Also plan on getting the stock bedded and free floated. I really doubt that I will hardly ever shoot over 400 yards so I think i will still be ok with my velocities in the shorter barrel.

Anyone have the 16.5" barrel .308 they want to trade??

I think that's the right call Mark. That shorty. 308 will make a great truck gun as well.
And with the suppressor you can work in a nice subsonic load that will be very quiet.

I have a remington 700 sps tactical .308 that I'm having cut down to 18" and threaded for a suppressor! It will be 26" with my Ti can!!! Figure 18" would be a good happy medium

Just cut my 20" to 18" and lost an average of 55fps screwed the can on and gained 48fps back.Its a wash to me but is easier to get up and out of the truck and buggy.

Thats a big reason why I want to do it and thanks for letting me know your fps change.
