Pistol question

Hey guys. I have a chance to pick up a new pistol from a guy that is just needing some cash. Sounds like a good deal..... $300 for a practically new Taurus PT 1911 .45
I have never been a huge handgun guy much less a Taurus fan, does anyone have any experience with this model, good or bad?
Is it a good deal for $300 or should I pass

If it's in decent shape at all that's an excellent price. I've handled them but not shot them. Build quality seemed very good for the price.

I had one--it's a good .45. Sold mine when Ruger came out with their 1911 Commander, which I had to have.

$300 is about $200 below the norm I'd say.

you should be able to easily sell for $350-$400 if you decide you don't like it once you get it.

Very sweet deal! I have shot one of my friends. Along with my STI and my brother's American Classic. The Taurus is a well made gun, maybe not the quality of my STI, but just as good as the AC. You can't go wrong with any 1911 in my eyes enjoy it!
