    Bullet setback?

Would this be consider significant setback? Is it safe to shoot I just checked all my bullets and this was the worst and some people say they shoot their setback bullets at the range but how far is too far to be considered dangerous?

That's a pretty good amount. Do you have any accurate way to measure each of the rounds?

This can go south quick in a pistol round, especially a higher pressure round like a 40.

I do not. And it's a hornady xtp in 9. I pulled a pdx1 of out of my 40 though that looked like it was a little bit, but it's only been chambered a few times.

Just out of curiosity, why are you chambering the same round so many times?

Rounds are actually designed to be chambered one time and shot. If you have to unload and re-load your carry gun all the time you should rotate the round that came out of the chamber down into the magazine. This will keep you from getting bullet set back. If you unload your gun every day after two weeks you will have chambered all of your rounds in your magazine. Most handgun rounds can take being chambered a few times. My gun stays loaded all the time so I do not have that issue.

Well I've made a habit to unchamber the round when I come inside the house and re chamber when I leave. I see no need for a live round in the chamber when I'm in my room. And I don't really do it that much, this round came out of a magazine of an xdm9 that I bought from my step dad, I don't carry the xtps I carry the critical defense rounds and usually shoot my carry magazine when I go shoot. I was just wondering because some say they shoot their setback rounds at the range but I was wanting to know when do they throw the round out. Has anyone seen the test the guy did where he intentionally setback the round until he was slamming it into the case with a hammer and fired it from a glock 22 with no kaboom?
