    Suppressor questions

This all started with a 10/22 build I am undertaking and I decided now just might be the time to take the plunge on a suppressor.

For starters I assume if I go the trust route I would have time to create the trust and get a form 4 submitted? Is there any limit to the number of trustees you can have on a gun trust?

Also can tbh recomend a good gun trust attorney?
I have gone back through the archives and found lots of usefull information but no recommendations on a attorney. It looks like about a year wait so might as well get started.

Several here recommended Cole Bryan. He's who I used. Super simple and he was very helpful.

Trust can usually be done in a week or less.

Wait times for NFA items are right at 4 months now if e-filed.

I used Sean Cody in Houston but several here have used Cole Bryan and seem to be satisfied.

I used Sean Cody here, trust can be done in a day or so. Easiest way to go.

I used Cole Bryan. Super easy, economical and fast. Like Mike said, about a 4 month wait if done efile....hardest part is getting it submitted on efile. I am having my gun builder submit mine and he has yet to get them submitted due to the poor program

Night time is the best time to file an eform. Call Scott Bittner in Amarillo since you're in Lubbock. I used cole Bryan also and he did a great job. There are several good folks who do it. 20 minute phone call, pay em, then they email you your trust. Very simple. Pick out your can. Email the PDF file to your dealer and pay for your can and the $200 tax and they submit it and you wait. Efile is by far the fastest way. If a dealer won't do it then find another dealer. Paper forms take forever.

There isn't a big difference in price on 22 cans from the cheap ones to the high end ones. So buy right. My suggestions would be a warlock, spectre ii, sparrow, or a pilot. Spectre ii would be what I'd recommend as you can shoot 22, 22 mag, 17 hmr and 5.7 through it. Make sure you get one you can take apart and clean. They get filthy fast. Some of the cheaper cans can't be taken apart.

Yeah first get a trust then talk to a shop, Silenced America is in Amarillo I believe. But there are several good places to order from in Texas (Silencer Shop being one of them).

Here is a list of good lawyers in Texas

Here is my suggestion with gun trust:
If you don't need legal advice then go to places that will generate a trust for you.
Silencer Shop has an automated system where they can generate a Gun Trust for you, it cost about $130. It was written by a lawyer.

If you have questions or need legal advice then go the lawyer route (this is the route I went cuz of my situation). I went with Chris Bass and he helped answer my questions. But I also found several templates online and after he did mine I compared it to them and they were pretty much the same thing. I actually helped some of my friends fill out the template and were good to go.

So do you fill out the form 4 and submit it or does your class 3 dealer do it for you?

They do it for you. Just do yourself a favor and call silencer shop in Austin. They are the best of the best and can do everything over the phone and via email. No reason to look further
