    Question on bluing

I have a classic old Sako AV that is flawless everywhere except about a 3" stripe on the top of the barrel where the bluing wore off over years of being leaned up in a safe. I would like to reblue the barrel only since everything else I'd perfect. Aside from the risk of the bluing not matching the original finish, is this possible? Or does the entire barreled action and mag floorplate all have to be reblued together?

if barrel is threaded , which I'm pretty sure it is, gunsmith can remove barrel ... polish it, then blue it

cost could be from $200-300 depending on GS

personally I'd leave it original since re-bluing will depreciate value and the odds of it matching are slim
