I'm a Remmy guy but a FN made Winchester featherlight is a hell of a rifle, with probably the best factory trigger

I narrowed my options to this:
Remington 700 SPS
Winchester mod 70 ultimate shadow
Both in stainless.
The 700 price is 1050 USD and the mod 70 is 1450 USD
Does it whorth the extra money for the winchester??
I like the look of both, what about the quality, finish and accuracy??
Thanks!
Oh, nvm, I see you are in Mexico.

Aaron,
Correct me if I am wrong here, but it is my uderstanding that you cannot legally aquir or use a military round cartridge for civilian use / hunting. This is how it was explained to me by my plant manager who was also looking into getting a firearm in mex??
Does the military actually allow you to buy the rifle of your choice in 30-06 Govt??
I thought this one would be considered in the same group as 5.56 & 308??
Did you get a price on the 700 bdl/cdl??

This
I have a safe and a half full of different rifles of just about every maker except Tikka and CZ. I also have most if not all of the "popular" calibers. I will tell you this without a doubt, but strictly my opinion of course. By far my favorite one to shoot and hunt with is my Winchester model70 featherweight chambered in .270 and topped with a Nikon Monarch 4.5x14x40.
The .270 is a near prefect all around caliber. That is not at all to say the other calibers are not good........for example, there is a very good reason that the .30-06 has been around and successful for as long as it has not to mention others. For shooting the game that you mention, in my mind it really boils down to personal preference.
With todays firearms and the different accessories and "accurizing" that you can do, any of the "big name" makers can be a good choice. You can take a straight off the shelf Model 700 and make it a completely custom gun.
All of that being said, if that type of customization is not available to you because of the difficulty in buying a firearm in the first place, I'd go with a Winchester model70, CZ, Remington 700....in that order

That being said, they're both good options. I'm personally just a Rem guy

About caliber, you can buy from .22lr to all the calibers for hunt african big game.
I have had .270 win, .270wsm, 30-06, 7mm rem mag, .308 win, etc... is totally legal
Prices in the army store:
700 BDL 1310 USD
700 CDL 1350 USD
If you buy a rifle from a civilian this price could go from 1000 to 3k depending in the brand, custom options etc

Bad deal compadre...in this case, I would likely pick the round where you can be assured there will be no shortage of ammo, which would lean towards 30-06, but an assumption on my part. Just more common around the world in general
Anyway, How is the used market?? If this is a lifetime investment & you could pony up the $$$, then I would be inclined to lean towards a gun that would hold it's value better. The sps could shoot great or it could shoot bad...in the US, it does not hold a resale value as well as the bdl models, but mex could be totally different.
Are there plenty of good clean used 700 bdl's on the market there or is nobody selling right now.

This is the reason why i choose 30-06 or .270 very good rounds for what I need to do with the gun.
Any firearm hold the value in Mexico. For example, you cand find old RG revolvers for 500 USD
Right now there are a lot of good rifles for sale because deer season is over, but the range of price go from 1k to 2000 usd for a used one.
For me is better and cheaper take a plane to Mexico city and bring my new guns to Monterrey.
