If you have a model 700 with a bad recoil pad

I just wanted to let everyone know that Remington customer service rocks. I just got off the phone with them and they are shipping a new recoil pad to my house free of charge. Whole phone conversation took about 5 minutes, heck it took me longer to get into my safe lol.

If anyone has a limbsaver type recoil pad on a Remington model 700 that is sticky or gooey, call them and they will replace it free of charge. The customer service rep I spoke to said limbsaver made a bad batch for their rifles.

Wouldn't mind one for my 30-06. Plastic cap is on mine and hurts.

I was hoping it would help somebody out. I was just going to deal with mine until I found out they would replace it for free.

I had to give them the gun serial number and that's it.

I had the same issue with a 700 Ti. they said it was a Bell and Carlson issue. B&C sent me a free Pachmayer Decelerator grind to fit pad. The it cost me $70 to have it put on. I have the same thing going on with a 700 CDL.

The stock on my 700 is the grey laminate one, so maybe that's the difference. Is your cdl a standard Remington stock? If so then you should be good to go.

70 bucks? You could have easily done it yourself.

I have one that seems like it is melting and gooey. I will give them a call. Was going to buy a new one,but never thought to call Remington. Thanks for the info.
