    Beretta A400 Xcel

Does anyone own one or shoot one much? I've got it in my head that I need a dedicated clays gun. It would mostly be for trap/sporting clays. I don't really have the money for a nice o/u, but I could probably swing for one of these. I don't really like the blue reciever and I don't know if you can get the target models in other colors. I'm very familiar with Beretta and their quality. I have a couple of 391's and love them, but I don't really want to change their setup right now. I just don't know anyone that has one of these to try out.

My brother and I both have A400 extremes. Love the gun. Never any issues and very little recoil.

I have an A400 unico and I have a buddy that has an Xcel. I have not shot his but I have never heard one complaint out of him about it.

I haven't ever shot a Beretta auto that was heavy on the recoil. It's one of the things I love about them. But that probably has a lot to do with how they fit me. I have an old Winchester SX-1 that I may trick out for this. I know they were very popular in the trap world a few years ago.

I had one. Good gun ,but heck to get parts for. I had mine for a couple of years & probably ran 6000 or so rounds through it. No problems with it. Easy to clean compared to a 391. There was a guy on gunbroker that supposedly had a special run on some that had black receivers. It was a nice looking gun.

Bought my son a new compitition gun last year and this is what I thought he would get. After shouldering several guns he passed on it and went with 391 Urika because LOP on the Xplor seemed really short.

Bought my daughter the A400 Target Parallel with kickoff 12ga for Christmas and she loves it. She shoot competitive skeet and sporting clays and most of the shooters at the meets all shoot this gun. She shoots 200-300 rounds per day with no problems.

It's a great gun, never had any issues. Love how light it is.

I'm assuming it's some sort of shortened stock? If so, that is great. I didn't think Beretta was making one for youth/women anymore. My daughter just started shooting trap with an old R1100 lt20 of mine that I bought a short stock for. I would love to get her a Beretta if she sticks with it. The youth 391's are impossible to find. And good on her for shooting. Young females are hard to find out there doing that. It's one of the things my daughter struggles with. She knows there won't be any other girls anytime we go.

I did order for her with the reduced length stock but you can get it with the full size stock as well. We had the gun fitted to her at Briley, here in Houston where we bought the gun.

Briley does good work. I've sent several guns to them. I just sent another barrel to them to get choked last week. I think I'm just going to put a little money into my winchester for now. This will be the first year in 10 years that I get to shoot a lot of clays. If I get to stick with it, I'll drop some coin on a nice target shotgun next year. It's actually funny. I sold my Perazzi to pay the med bills when my daughter was born 9 years ago. Now she's beginning to shoot with the shotgun that my grandfather gave me when I was 13. I'm glad Beretta is still making guns for youths. I don't know if there is a better shooting gun. If she stays after it, I will buy her one in a couple of years. My niece has taken up skeet. I may see about getting her one as well. She's using another lt 20 that I bought and chopped the stock on for her.
