200 Yard Shot with Glock 41

I saw this posted on Facebook today, and I thought man that's a shot. Anyways after I watched the video for the 2nd time, I noticed that right before the bullet hit the target the dirt moved on both sides of the target (about 15' to each side. Anyways, what would cause that???

Also, pretty neat to see how long it take that bullet to get to target

you are seeing the impact and resulting dirt move before you hear the hit. Speed of sound is slower thats why you usually hear the hit if you shoot at an animal out at a distance.

When we shoot at 1000 yds I will fire a round and immediately pull my earmuffs off and listen for the hit..

I can't hit a good size pine tree from 20 yards. I never have been able to shoot a handgun. Rifle on the other hand, always seem nature

My 38 super has really good ballistics for a handgun load. A 45 does not. How high do you have to hold to make this shot?

Well, if we're bragging, I can hit a head sized rock at 80 with my S&W 10-5. Wouldn't want to have to though, it involves some windage.

What your seeing is the bullet fragments hit the ground after the bullet shatters from hitting the steel.

You would be surprised how easy results similar to those are.

I used to have a co-worker that I went shooting with once. He was a certified instructor and all around good guy. The guy you would bend over backwards to try to work for.

There was a human size boulder on the hill side at roughly 150 yards, it was hard to get a good reading on the range finder. Anyways, he has me start shooting at it. Its the same principle as long range archery shots, if you feel confident at long range, the short range stuff is a walk in the park. Took me a few shots to figure out what my 9mm was flying, but eventually I was hitting it every shot.

Not saying the layman can do it first shot, but play with your handgun enough and you can do it too.

Bingo, if my dad has a revolver in his hand, he could probably kill ya from 150-200 yards away. With his glock 30, he would sure make me stay behind my rock
