Help decide which remington 308 to get

I am trying to decide between the following 3 rifles in 308, and my intention is to shoot it suppressed with 175gr+ bullets:

Remington 700 SPS LTR 20" barrel fluted, 1-10 twist
    Remington 700 5R 20" bull barrel 1-11.25 twist
Remington 700 SPS AAC 20" bull barrel

All of them are within a few $ if you were to add a comparable stock to the 2 SPS models. All of them would also be threaded from the factory. Anyone have any experience with these first hand?

I love my SPS AAC-SD 20", wouldn't hesitate for a second to get another. I've already started looking for the 16.5" version for my wife. That said, I'd go with any rifle with the 1-10" twist.

I've got the 5R in the 20" and it will shoot better than I can. I've only taken it out to 300yrds. It will shoot 175 grn SMK well below MOA.

The 5r to me has a better stainless finish than the Sps lines. I haven't seen a 5r in blued but it's prolly a little better finish Also. That being said you'll be happy with any. But I would suggest you go look at them in the store.

We have been running several of the LTR's for 5 years and they are some good accurate factory rifles. Don't think you can beat them for the money.

I dont care what they look like. They absolutely have to have 1:10" twist or theyre worthless for heavies.

I would go with the 5r or the LTR, cant go wrong with either.

168 is a winner out to 600 yards. the 175 SMK will make it out to 1000 with no problem with your rifle

for distance and target shooting the 155gns work a little better.

When mine was 26 inches it shot 178 amazes great.

Now it shoots 168s better. I could prolly get the 178s to shoot but I already had that load data for 168 and it owned great right out of the box

I'm fixing to buy an AAC SD 16.5" for the same reason. 208 AMAX subs or heavier bergers. Probably to to shoot it at distance with supers for the heck of it. I need just the barreled action only though. So if anyone knows of one, do tell!!

Good luck! There hard to find just the barreled action there good shooters tho.

I'm surprised u wouldn't want to keep the good sturdy hogue that come on them lol

Shooting 175gr plus ull need 1-10 like said above it will make the difference when shooting subs
