What's the best sks

I have a buddy that has one for sale. It think it's a Chinese made and has a folding stock. If I remember correctly he was asking $500. I have Chinese one and it shoots great but not for sale.

but none are worth rhe ask in prices now imo. Bought a dew when they were under 100. I wouldn't spend over 250-300 on one but they keep going up in price

It all depends on what you are looking for. Before the price hike the Russian ones were well over 500.00, the Chinese ones for 300-375 and the Yugo's for 375.00. I got a paratrooper for 475.00 and it was a decent deal at the time.

Now if you want one tricked out with AR type synthetic stock and optics and stuff of course they are more expensive.

Are you on a budget, want a plinker or just an sks for grins. It's a lower end version of the AK & consider buying a clean us one if possible. The sks has a weird value fluctuation??

I personally would move un into an AK platform with an Arsenal brand as my 1st choice if $$$ was not an issue.

The two actually are not at all alike, they just shoot the same round. The SKS is forged from solid steel while the AK is stamped metal. One could actually say the SKS is stronger and tougher. I love my AK as well though. I just sold two of my SKS' but I kept the Paratrooper and the AK. I love both of them.
