Recently realized I want a varmint/predator rifle. Looking at the Savage BMag rifle hard. Ammo is hard to get. I'm conflicted should I get something like that or just purchase a 223 which I can reload for? Plan on shooting yotes, raccoons ,and range usage.

Would consider a 243 as well. I have a R25 in 243 that I love!!! And it doubles as a deer killer too! I have my rifle sighted in with a 100gr bullet and it does not hurt the hide of predators, and will knock down a deer no problem. Gotta shoot the hogs in the head though!Comment

Shells will only get harder to get, so are reloading components, if you reload buy in bulk. I recently looked at every reloading source country wide looking for primers with all being back ordered . Glad I finally remembered I hide 5000 in my gun safe.Comment
