    Remmy guys I gots questions

Picked up a 700 adl varmint in 223 yesterday to start a yote gun build.

1st things first... I want to convert it from and adl to a bdl or detachable magazine if anyone knows of 223 dbm bottom metal that isn't 400$....

Obviously I'll need a new stock so any recommendations? I want to stay on the cheaper end of the spectrum if possible I can't be swinging 500$ on a stock.

    And go...

That thing is already a good yote gun! Changing the stock would be the only thing you need to do. My dad has a 222 and a 22-250 with the bull barrels but they are already BDL's. Cool guns for sure.

        http://www.pacifictoolandgauge.com/r...tm#bottommetal

        PTG Bottom Metal 120-200 Bucks.

        http://www.boydsgunstocks.com/produc...=8405&cat=1221

Boyds laminate Thumbhole... Pick a color any color 99 bucks (like 120 something delivered).

Then Skim bed that bad boy. I would say both the bottom metal and action need to be bedded into the stock> http://discussions.texasbowhunter.co...d.php?t=294109

Thats +/- 300 bucks and your ready to go

          Badger, Seekins, etc.

Stillers makes one that will drop in a bdl inlet with no work required to the stock

Check gunbroker or ebay for a HS Precision for a budget friendly stock.

If you have deep pockets check out McMillan or Manners. You could also go with a stock like Mcree, AI AXCS, etc. for a drop in all exclusive stock.

          Good luck!!!!

I've been browsing Boyds they have some nice stocks for the money. I'd just have to find some bottom metal or a detachable mag setup for a reasonable cost

Eric, look at stockystocks dot com. I got a B&C A5 stock and a Wyatt DBM that is a drop-in on that stock from them a while back. The bottom metal and mag was around $250. There may be other stocks where this would be a drop-in as well.
                I can show you mine.

I did it in 1988 on a .270 from Carters Country in Houston. They had a deal on an ADL that had an unfinished stock. It was actually cheaper to buy this gun then buy a synthetic stock with a sling and recoil pad, which was a BDL. These items were all new.

I had them put the bottom metal mag in and still use the gun. I love this gun, but have never been impressed with the BDL mag. It's nice that it's flush, but to me it can be a pain to load. The mag does not want to accept the shells evenly. Just my .02.

I just had this gun serviced in Kansas by a gunsmith an even he had issues with loading when it was finished.
