Wanting to shoot long range and 970meters+ should I get the 0 moa base from larue or the 20 moa? I was hoping to get whatever scope I get sighted in at 100 and then go from there--- Its a remington 700 aac-sd action….probably going to have a aics 1.5 chassis

I have a 20MOA base on my Savage w 6-24 Vortex Viper PST FFP. I can zero at 100 and adjust thru 1000. Remember ring height also plays a factor in your adjustment range (but hurts on canting error), so choose wisely.
To answer your question though... I believe you will need an angled base. I have not seen a scope that has the adjustment to reliably do 1000 without it.Last edited by howabouttheiris; 01-22-2014, 12:48 PM.

As Lee stated its going to depend on your scope. With a 200 yard zero shooting 168 grain Federal OTM you will need 36MOA to get to 1000 yards.
That's going to be stretching it with most hunting scopes. You are going to need a tactical style scope with more adjustment.
Personally all of my rifles that I even think I might shoot way out there wear 20MOA bases.
