    SBR scope

I'm thinking of putting a 1-4 on my DD MK18 (10.3" barrel) since I do more hunting than anything. I've read about, but not fondled any of the following scopes, so I'm asking the "All Knowing TBH" brethren for their input...

A few things: I'm big on eye relief and light transmission...

I've got $100 gift card from Academy to burn, so here's what they sell that I'm interested in:

Leupold Mark AR 1-4x20 (I had their 3-9 version and really liked it). $299

Burris Fullfield TAC30 1-4x24 (If this scope is like their Fullfield II lines, I won't buy it) $299

    Burris MTAC 1-4x24 $399

    Vortex Viper PST 1-4x24 $499

Which should I lean towards and which ones should I not even look at?

    Thanks!
    Lee

my bro just got the mark AR and like its. I'm running the leupold patrol 1x4 on one of my sbrs right now and aimpoint t1. like the 1x4 better for longer shots.

How about a red dot and variable power in one? I have a Mark 4 CQ/T 1-3. NV compatible. Even without batteries, you still see the reticle. I don't know that you will find one at Academy.

Looks very nice but about twice the budget I'm wanting to spend!

I could always slap the Zeiss 4.5-14x50 sitting in the safe on it.

You can't put a Vortec on that upper - just aint right.

4.5-14x50 is overkill for the SBR. I'd take the Zeiss 3-9x40 off of the stainless threaded 10/22 that just sits if it was me...

Sell me the upper and then you have $ for a different optic.

I just don't dig red dots... don't know why. I've had probably a half dozen of them as cheap as a bushnell up to a couple nice ones like Eotech and Aimpoint.

If Zeiss made a decently priced one, I'd be hunting around for it! I'd really like to keep my optics the same. ocd'dness.

Trade me that 10/22 in your safe!

If that's all I had to choose from it would be the PST... Tac30 has garbage illumination, the MTAC is to heavy for a SBR, and the leupold is a 1" tube with a crappy FOV. These are my just my opinions... Lol

This is the exact info I need bud! IF I was to venture to a different optic than what I mentioned above, what would be some recommendations? I really have no need for a $500+ optic, unless it was a Zeiss then I could keep all my scopes the same.

I think the Leupold VX-R 1.25-4 30mm would be a good choice for that kinda money.

Or you could match and put the Zeiss Z-point on it

I'd really like to get my hands on a Zeiss Conquest 1.8-5.5 x38mm.

Whatever you decide, post up your choice and what you'd do different. My SBR should be here around April
