    Is 25-06 ammo...

readily available? I'm looking at buying a browning A-Bolt in that caliber but have no info on ammo availability.
Im hoping the GS can shed some light on it for me.

I haven't had any issues with finding ammo. But I also stockpile when I find what I want.

I got the x bolt been shooting 25-06 for the last 15 years. The last few months I have been having some trouble finding ammo so I started hand loading myself. That gun eats up the Barnes 100 gr. and hates everything else I have thrown through it. Good luck

Recoil? Id like my daughters to be able to shoot it when they go with me.

Very mild recoil too. One of my daughters started shooting one of mine at 11 years old

Recoil isn't bad little more than a 223 like stated before one of the best all around guns out there I wouldn't be scared to take it elk hunting in the mountains of Colorado. Sighted in at 100 yards it will shoot them same at 300!

Recoil is minimal. My son and I shot 3 deer this past season with the 25-06 117 gr SST. 120 yd broadside, 200 broadside, 80 neck shot,,, all clean pass through shots. I have heard bad stories about the SST's, but so far, I have no complaints.
