    60mm vs 80mm

Im in the market for a spotting scope, but don't know if I should buy the 60 or 80mm. Any advantages or disadvantages I should consider for each??

    I have a Vortex in 80.

Advantages: lets in tremendous amounts of light, I can start spotting deer, elk, sheep, etc 1 mile away way before sunrise. Very clear and crisp picture.

Disadvantages: very heavy to pack in. Its big, almost too big sometimes. With as light weight as I have gone with the rest of my gear, I often find myself having to arrange my pack around my spotter. Other than that, that's it.

I am very satisfied with my 80mm through

Only reason I do is because I live and hunt in Nevada. The need doesn't really exist in Texas on most applications.

Never thought I would need the equipment I now own.
