Go laser, not light. A large focusable laser is absolutely awesome

I have 2 Sniper Hog lights, Destroyer light for my gun and Mini Sniper for my bow. I also love the Eliminator switch (high/low beam). I use the low beam on my bow and can easily see 20-25 yards.

^^this. I beleive its the best green light for the money. It comes with everything needed to mount it on several diff weapons. The range is easily 200 yards through a scope. Its a lill heavy. I love mine.

You could also make your own. Get a green see through file folder and cut a circle to fit the lens of a stream light.

Look up the C8X or 900A flashlights. C8X is C8 with more directed beam, 900A is even more directed. You can buy full kits with mount, batteries, charger, and pressure switch for $50 or less. I have used these for over 3 years and have not had one failure with them. Have shot pigs at 220yds, can easily see deer or yote eyes at 350yds.

You can also look into the WF-501B. much more of a flood pattern, excellent for bows or 75 yards or less. Can see eyes out past 150yds easy. Great for walking around or using on a headband.

Quick scope mount - hugely convenient for quickly attaching or removing flashlight. Sets flashligth dead on your scope FOV every time.
                Batteries - 18650 batteries or 2-CR123s
Red - excellent for varmints and hogs
Green - better for hogs (also helps your eyes adjust back to nightvision much faster)

You can buy all of these straight from China, either thru ebay, aliexpress, or dealextreme. I'm all for buying american made, but I have not found one good red light that is made here. Also, it is unbelievable how much mark up is on the lights you see online, going for over $150. If they were a bit more reasonable, I would have just bought thru these american transfer companies that are selling these lights, but it'll prove to be a short business if they dont drop prices.

Lastly, I have the laser genetics nd3x50, paid $120 or so. First one died on me, returned and replaced, very easy thru china company. It is cool as Ill get out to play with, like a huge lightsaber, great for signaling if your lost I guess. Range is well over a mile. Not near as convenient to use for hunting. It has to be dialed in to your scope perfectly to be effective. Vibrations or any abuse and its already knocked out of alignment, not good for hunting.
The flashlights above easily go out to 200, ok at 250 and convenience factor is astronomically better.

I like the Laser Genetics adjustable lasers. They are not "flashlights". They are adjustable beam lasers. I have found them to be very dependable and they come with a mount that allows you to "sight" in the light cone to coincide with your optic. Heck, on moonlight nights, you can use the beam on a small setting for sighting. One thing to note is if you don't use the "sub-zero" version, they will stop working if it gets cold, like below 40 degrees. I have one of each, and even the standard one can be fired back up by putting a hand warmer on it with a rubber band...

SniperHogLights's newest is hands down the best light on the market. I have used all the other ones.

Need help picking a light for AR.

It looks like sniper hog light and the kill light 250 are the top two. Anybody have experience with both, if so which one is better.

Yes I had them both. The OLD Sniper Hog Light and 250 were virtually the same light just like most of them out there. SniperHogLights(owned by a TBH member) came out with a brand new setup that I now have(sold other lights) and it is hands down the farthest shining light on the market and these new lights are all interchangeable between a bow/rifle light and a flashlight with 2-3 different color LED's for each occassion.

The new mounting system is awesome. A simple turn of the knob and the beam/light moves to focus into a certain area. For example at 200 yards you can move the beam left/right/up/down if its not exactly perfectly visible thru the scope.

WOW!! Smackdown, I think you're onto something there! I went to the site and it appears the HS802 is the exact same light. Here's the link to the "green" version and it comes with the light, a 3000mah rechargeable lithium battery and charger all for 26 bucks!

                              I definitely bookmarked this site!

66LR is the rifle light and the 30LR is the bow light. I bought the package with it all and 2 diff color LED's so I can use the red for my hog bow/rifle light and white LED for my flashlight.
