Custom- semi custom barrels

Hello

I am looking to buy a barrel for a mauser project I am working on. I wasn't looking to break the bank. Where is the best place to buy barrels? Midway has a shilen barrel I like but the heavest contour they have is 4 which has a muzzle of .650.

Anyone kno where to buy a 6.5x55 swede barrel that has at least a .70 muzzle? I have looked at brownells and midway. The barrel at midway is special order but they wont change the contour. And buying that barrel from shilen is over $400 as opposed to $250.

I am stuck on 6.5x55. And would prefer threaded and short chambered.

Look at the details. That barrel from midway may not be finished out and ready for install. Probably short chambered. You would still need a smith to install. You can get barrels straight from manufactureres. Cajun Blake would probably tell you to look at Pac-nor for a very good value. You can send them your action and they will do everything for you for I think less than $600. That is if my memory serves me correctly!

Yea, i would like to complete this project on my own, will have a gun smith's supervision. The barrels midway sells are short chambered and threaded. They just need to be reamed out and checked with go, no-go gauges.

I just don't want a sporter contour.
