Anybody own or shoot one of these? I am definitely interested in getting one soon.

I recently just got one and have no complaints..
The no dust cover or forward assist made me a little worried when I first was looking at it but I bet a lot of people whom have dust covers forget to even use them when storing or riding around. I replaced the rail on mine and it makes a world of difference on looks.

I have one. Works well. Shoots everything I've fed it, only hiccup was when I let it get too dry and it gummed up a little. Very accurate, right at MOA with cheap steel ammo. I did put a free float forearm on it, which involved shaving the gas block. Other than that, it's stock out of the box.

I have had my M&P sport 15 since September. I love it!!! It has a 1/9 melonite barrel. The only modifications I have made is a $10 JP trigger spring kit (reduced the pull by approx half, well worth it, simple to install) and a Nikon P-223 3x9x40 rifle scope. I have had no problem shooting sub MOA with 55 grain bullets from a variety of makers. Because it shoots 55 gr. so well I haven't tired larger or smaller grain bullets. My nephews and I had no problem hitting 6 in steel at 150 yards, shooting as fast as we could, approx 300 rounds with ease. I have had zero failures to fire or hiccups. My hunting buddy shoots an AR- Performance 6.8 spc. which is an awesome gun with a spikes lower, costs twice as much, but the coyotes laying at our feet have shown no preference for one over the other.I would definitely recommend the 6.8 if you plan to shoot deer or larger critters.
I cleaned my rifle when I purchased it. Otherwise, I have not cleaned it.I shoot my guns and use them as tools, I do not obsess over them. There is so much BS when comes to AR's it tough to sort out. Do not listen to the guys that say Colts are better. They are on every forum. Better for what?? Combat. My gun is for civilian use and hunting. I do not roll around in dirt playing pretend with my rifle. For hunting and plinking, the rifle has exceeded my expectations. I bought it on the recommendation of my friend who is a gun store employee. He sales hundreds of AR's including LWRC, Colt, Wilson, RRA, Remington, S&W, Ruger, etc. When I told him what i was looking for the M&P 15 sport is what he recommended.
Also, do not listen to anyone who tells you, that you have to remove the front sight post in order mount a scope, or that your scope mount has to be higher than the front sight. I used a Burris PEPR scope mount. You cannot see the front post through anything with a 2x or larger magnification. Do your research you will see what I am telling you is the truth.
I spent $650 after tax on my rifle, $10 JP trigger springs, $150 scope, $40 mount???. I planned on spending much more on an AR, but instead I listened to my friend. I could not be more pleased. In fact I have been so, pleased I plan on purchasing an M&P 10 this year.
Good luck!

Sorry about the bad pic, but this is mine. I love mine! It shoots great and before I bought it I was thinking about the no dust cover or forward assist. IMO if you chamber a bullet and the bolt doesn't seat all the way, you shouldn't shoot that bullet. Also, my shotguns don't have dust covers, neither do pistols. I paid $700 for mine out the door. The only thing I've done to it is added a free float rail a Nikon P-223 and some Magpul stuff. As said above it eats everything I've put into it and is very accurate with the 55 to 65 grain bullets. I shot a doe with the Barnes 55 grain TSX at 100 yards and she didn't take a step. All in all I would recommend this to anyone looking to get into ARs, great gun, you won't be disappointed.

If you don't go that route look at the troy two piece rails. Your not going to extend your grip by a lot adding a different 7 inch rail. You would really need to go to 9", 11", 13". But you would also have to knock your front sight post off and change your gas block.
Personally I would just leave it the way it is to start.

For scope mounting, I like the one piece mounts like the Burris PER.

As far as the free float vs drop in, what is the accuracy differnce going to be with factory ammo?
Bearintx, is the MOE carbine length?
Thanks guys
Free float will almost always give you a little better accuracy since there is now nothing influencing the barrel harmonics which can change from shot to shot.
