    FFL transfers don't be that guy!

    Quick rant! If you use a FFL to ship or receive a firearm be friendly! Call them before you ship something to them. Include your phone number on the paperwork. Don't call your FFL 6 times a day to see if your gun is there and complain if it's not. We don't have control of when UPS/FedEx delivers.

    Just a friendly reminder!

    And from our end, dealers better be organized! Ain't sayin' that you ain't, just sayin' that some ain't.

    (in business unrelated to your rant...) I had to send my receiving dealer's license 3 times before I finally cancelled the sale and demanded a refund. We faxed it, emailed it, and snail mailed it, and the sending FFL "couldn't find it".

    I admit that customers are more likely to be the PITA in a transaction, but nothing ticks me off than someone who is in business that either doesn't know his business or doesn't run his business like a business.

    Whew, I feel better. Still friends?

      Lol! I agree, can be on both ends.... We deal with FFL's that don't know there *** from a hole in the ground everyday! Makes you wonder how they still have one??? We sell on average 10 guns a day! We have to have our **** together!

              ~Make sure you also put a note/email to include the shipping dealer's FFL or a copy of the seller's drivers lic when they ship the gun...you will NOT get your gun if I cannot aquisition into my books. I now put this on every ffl I give out...I also ask buyers to forward me the tracking number.

              ~Also, if buying ammo at the same time, do NOT allow shipment of ammo with the gun...it MUST be in a different box per ATF regs & marked "small arms ORM-D"

              ~If your ffl dealer does not have a storefront, get 'Adult signature required' or some ding dong delivery dude WILL eventually leave your package at the front door. I had it happen with a 5 figure gun & that sort of insurance usually requires a signature regardless. Do not take chances!! I WAS HOME...They were lazy or clueless!!

                I don't have a tracking number. Just a phone number.

                  While I appreciate and completely understand your position and justifiable rant. I don't have anything delivered that I don't absolutely have to, especially guns! If I buy a gun, it is in my hands as soon as seller is done counting!

                    The ammo thing made me think of a guy that had his mom ship us a gun, we opened the box and there was clothes and old stinky shoes in the box with the gun! Lol!

                        I call at least every hour. Keep getting voicemail on the first ring for some reason.

                              then you are not a collector...you are an enthusiast who does not mind waiting and passing on a good deal.

                              OR, you are like some of my customers willing to pay top dollar for the gun and top dollar for the overnight early AM shipping.

                              I have seen grown men go nutz when I would not allow them to take home a 6 figure English double because the seller forgot his info.

                              ~~~~
                              The internet has changed the way a gun collector can aquire an item...I only deal with close friends and family for 4473's, as I do mostly consignments. I have no rants here, as it is not my $$$ or gun that is coming in. Call me every hour if you want to hear 'not yet'...my guys know I watch their tracking and have no sympathy if they do not give it to me or watch it themselves.
                              I just follow the laws & try to pass along sound advice for those who do not like headaches.
                              i am not speaking for eco...just artos
