    870 or Super Nova????

I will be buying a new shotgun this upcoming spring and Im torn between a 12g a in either an all synthetic Remington 870 or the Beneli super nova. Ive shot an friends 870's before and have never had an issue, but I wanted to get some opinions on them both.

You can't go wrong with either. They are both smooth operators. I own both. Actually a little more partial to my 870. If your going to be around a lot of water or don't clean your gun much you might want to check out the 887 it more comparable to the super nova. Its impervious to just about everything. The nova would be comparable to the 870.

I have the beneli and so does a buddy of mine we both like them a lot. I know mine has been thru all kinds of crap and his has been through a lot more than mine. Never had a problem with it and I shoot better with it than any other shotgun I have shot. The 870 is the 870 and isn't a legendary gun for no reason. Had a guy at the place I bought mine say the 870 had more moving or smaller part once you broke it down. How true that is I don't know. I like the bigger trigger guard on the super nova if you shoot with a glove. The 870 has so many things out on the market for it that you can buy to modify it or replace parts. Kind of a toss up. Just handle them both and see which one feels the best and allows you to "get down on the gun" the easiest and most comfortable and has the features you think suit you best.

Break them both down as if you are about to clean it, and see which one is easier.

Partial to the 870 myself, didn't care for the way the Benelli shouldered for me. I could care less about breaking down a shotgun, both are extremely easy to do so and clean. For me with any long gun is how it shoulders.

Same for me as well, but either one is a good gun.

Been shooting the Nova for 10+ years and love mine. It's been through hell and back when I used to do a lot of duck hunting.

I have both and I like both. I had the Nova first and then the 870. My girlfriend prefers the 870...so that is what she shoots. You are good either way. If you want to modify the gun, then the 870 is the easier choice.

870 is a legendary shotgun for a reason.
