    Savage Model 25 .204 problem

Ok so I bought a savage model 25 in .204 ruger back in april or may of this year. Fought it and fought it and fought it trying to get the dang thing to shoot went through 2 sets of rings and bases are tight and have tried 3 different scopes on it that shoot fine on other rifles. Then yesterday after shooting it with the 3rd new scope on it I got to thinking about it and checked my brass and this is what I found. Every single piece of brass as primers that looks like this with 5 or 6 of them with blown out primers where the pin strikes. So is this my issue with the accuracy? And what on earth could be causing the issue and how easy is it to fix? Also will savage fix it on their dime or I am I going to be stuck with the bill? Also this was with the Fiochi 32 gr vmax ammo. I have tried to call savage but they were closed for the holidays and will be back on the 6th and they will be getting a phone call pending advice from the GS.

I will also add that it is not the indian. When I can grab my .270 or the ar and stack them within an inch every single time but this gun will barely keep an 8 inch group it is on the rifle and not me.

Firing pin is too long or ammo is too hot.
I would try different ammo first.

I would bet its a firing pin problem.

I had this same problem with the cheaper ammo( monarch) in my 788 .223. Don't have this problem with name brand or any of my hand loads no matter how hot I load them.

          I would change ammo first.

Brass shown is all same headstamp, have you used different ammo or is this all you tried? As post above have pointed too, rule out your ammo then go from there!
Savage should be willing to work with you if you think its the rifle!

Those are all signs of too much pressure, probably not a firing pin problem. Has it always done this to the primers? Are you keeping the barrel clean?

Could be bad lot of ammo.

                Could be the the chamber.

                Try different ammo.

If that were a reload if say it is way over pressured, atleast that's signs I look for when load developing. Try a different factory round.

Yes all brass shown is fiochi brass, I have also shot federal 39 gr vshok. I cant seem to find the box I was shooting but I will dig around and see if I can find it as it was not shooting worth a dang either out of this rifle. The rifle itself as only had 30 rounds of ammo ran through it 20 fiochi and 10 federals. The federals also not shooting is one of the reasons I am really starting to look at the rifle being the problem.

Ok per yalls advice I went and dug up the box of federals I was shooting and they are also showing the same signs as the fiochi ammo. Didn't get any other brands to shoot as I heard from several people that both of these rounds are usually shooters. So at this point I am going to go out on a limb and say that it is indeed the firing pin so I will be getting ahold of savage on monday.

Have seen this problem before on Savage 204. It is a factory issue. We have sent one in before doing same thing. It will cost u shipping to them but fixed under warranty

Well I got ahold of savage on tuesday the 7th had the gun in the mail the 8th and showed delivered that next monday the 13th so they have had possession of the rifle for 2 weeks. What is the usual turn around time for savage? Patience isn't my strong my point. Will say that I was pretty impressed with customer service though they are going to warranty any repairs no questions asked all I had to pay was shipping costs and they are going to ship it back on their dime.
