    22-250 or 243

We are Looking At getting a gun to plink Around with. Either at a gun range or to shoot hogs. What would you get, a 22-250 or 243? Also need one that wont break the bank To play with (Cheaper ammo)

    What does the greenscreen think?

From either of those will do the job. I would probably pick the 22-250.

I really enjoy my 22-250. I have both and prefer my 22-250. Shoot some barnes tsx bullets through it and you can kill anything in texas with it.

22-250. Get some winchester white box 40 rounds for $30 and have at it.

If you can find any!lol Tired of all the empty shelves. Wish the fear buyers would find something else to do for a while.

Both calibers are awesome and usually not much of a price difference in ammo.

I have both calibers and prefer the 22-250. I've got a sweet, accurate Savage with the Accutrigger and absolutely love it. Ammo seemed to actually be easier to find and if head shooting hogs, it's an excellent round. If you plan on shooting deer also, I'd consider going with the 243. I've shot several hogs behind the shoulder with the 22-250 and have yet to drop one and because of that, I haven't taken it deer hunting yet. Just not near enough knock down in it.

Have both. Have a Weatherby 22-250 and do not hesitat to shoot anything in the ear or neck at 150 and less. Fun to shoot. Nothing wrong with a 243 except ammo harder to find for some reason

There is nothing wrong with the 243. Its the smallest we can shoot deer and elk with here. And it gets the job done on both accounts. Plus coyote's and smaller stuff. Cant say any thing about the 22-250 as I dont owen one. But my 243 is one gun I would not get rid of for any reason.

22-250 is a sweet round but rounds are harder to come by and much more expensive. I would go with a .243 more rounds and cheaper prices.
