Comparing a shotgun to a rifle? That's confusing to me. Shotguns are judged by their fit, finish, longevity, material used and craftsmanship... The argument your trying to use would be like saying, its a 1911, its not a precision machine like a rifle, it spews bullets out as you pull the trigger.

You're wrong about it not being a precise machine. If you've ever patterned a shotgun you'd realize the fallacy of your argument.

Again, I'm not dogging the mossberg... Just trying to understand your argument.

I have patterned many a shotgun. I cut my teeth on many cheaper shot guns. I have used everything from my current benelli to hand me down single shots. Unless the gun has a major malfunction there isn't much difference in performance in my opinion. Yes you may have to aim different do to patterns being high, low, or to the side a little but it's more about practicing with your weapon and knowing it then how much you've paid for it.

I've been hunting ducks this year with a maverick and it works great. I even had to use it as a forging pole to cross a current (I was already committed to the river) and I just dumped out the water and crap and shot the rest of the day with. Tough gun IMO.

Out unit won't let us shoot them because there is no "Army standard for qualification". I personally like Benelli, I have had one for a long time and I have had no issues with it. I have also had a JC Higgins that was amazing! I can't hold anything against the guys for making money while they can. Like Phil said this will not last for ever. They might as well make the money while they can.
so if you don't use them then how do you know they wont hold up??

we used them all the time for breaching, never so much as a hiccup

I bet you $1k I can outshoot you in a duck blind with a Mossberg. You can pick whatever gun you want. I can probably arrange you a SBE II or another high dollar gun if you want.

I know you have a dislike for Mossberg guns, but it's a shotgun, you can't compare it to a rifle. I'm a duck hunter, I don't care how pretty my gun is. They get muddy, scratched, used as a paddle, submerged. All I care about is it goes boom, boom, boom. Ask me about my expensive Remington that took a dump on me this morning in the duck blind. In 10 years my trusty ol' 935 didn't do it.

I'm hearing alot of knocking around the Remington's but, how can anyone have anything bad to say about the 870, I will agree the semi's area terrible. I had an 870 supermag and I couldn't kill that gun and I tried too. I used that gun as a push pole, padle, walking stick all in the saltwater marshes.

If i had 1k Id take you up on that... In college i did a lil guiding here and there and still stay pretty frisky by jumping ponds here in the oilfield. As a matter of fact we had duck for dinner tonight.

I don't care about your mossberg, your gun. I don't give a **** what you shoot. Im particular to my xtrema 2 for what is worth.. But these were shot with an 870 super mag.

Nasty. Haha. I'm not saying Mossberg is the best, it's a serviceable gun at a decent price, was a descent price till they put that Duck Commander sticker on it.

Duck Commander or Duck Dynasty ? There is a difference. I see the A&E Duck Dynasty everywhere. DC seems a bit more limited. I have see DD is several different department stores and discount stores.
