    Hawaiian or Dall??

Ok guys, i need some input. I've never been on any other hunts other than white tail, hogs, etc. but I have an awesome opportunity to harvest my choice of either a Texas Dall sheep or Black Hawaiian sheep. Hunt will be in march, but i need to give the outfitter my choice... i'm not a trophy hunter, but i'm considering getting this one mounted...

out of the two, which should i go for? which one is better eating?

I vote black Hawaiian. Neither one is going to taste that great IMHO

Rams taste like crap. I would shoot the dall if that were my choices.

I had a ram mixed with a hog and made into buck sticks and it was edible. Definitely not the best table fare though.

They're not as bad as everybody makes them out to be. Having said that they're not the best eating either. I also don't think deer is all that good so my opinion may not count. Lol. I'd shoot the dall. They make a nice mounts. All the rams I've killed I make into jerky. You can't tell the difference between ram and anything else.

The dall is the real choice

No they don't eat well ..........unless........ You know an OLD lady of Spanish descent who really knows how to make tamales. Pay her and have her make some for you..... Pretty tasty

The Dahl is my choice and for the eating part ... I always take the meat and it tastes good in a in stew or soup.

I don't thiink either would be good eating thats what I have always heard unless its a younger ewe. If price is or could be an issue go with the cheapest for the hunt and for the mount you would want. Other than that I would look at which he has more success with and which his clients have taken the biggest of.

Which ever one you see that you like. Black Hawaiians with the yellow colored horns are a pretty critter.

I like the Hawaiians better but just look at both if them and see which one you like the looks of better
