    Build the AR!

    $2,000 budget.

    16" heavy barrel.

Other than that it's pretty much open.

My uncle has assigned me the task of building him an AR. Half the fun is deciding on what to use so go for it!

Just stay under $2,000. and this is bare gun. No optics.

    Go!

He's wanting more of a home protection gun, SHTF, and a good quality gun to have fun with on the range. Not so much hunting. He plans on running an Eotech with it. He'd probably pop some pigs with it but that's about it as far as hunting goes.

        Needs to be 5.56

I've pretty much got an idea on what I want it to be.

Really wanting a Noveske Barrel but I can't find one in stock.

Probably going to go DI rather than piston just so we can throw more money at the trigger and barrel.

Going with a Gieslle trigger (probabbly SD E but not for sure yet)

No billet lowers. They're not worth it in my opinion. Probably going with an All Star Tactical Delta Lower.

Probably going with a Magpul ACS stock. but again that's negotiable too.

            Armalite mid length tube
            VLTOR bcm gunfighter charging handle

            Magpul furniture
            Smith Vortex Flash Eliminator

Only thing I would change so far is I wish I went with a Giselle. Can't remember what I used. Know it is mil spec but don't remember the name.

My stock is the Acs as well. like it so far.

or build a 7.62x39, VERY cheap to shoot and Hornady offers a really nice ballistic tip bullet as well. Buy a lower at a Gun Show for $100, a collaspable stock $50,a build kit for another $100, then look into MODEL1SALES for a complete CAR upper for around $750 So $1k for a complete gun That you can get 100rnds for $29.99 of cheap ammo and $34.99 for good Hornady.

Can't believe I didn't think of JP enterprises! I'm liking their barrels!

I wanted Noveske but the guy I was working with runs JP on all of their 3 guns and he swears by it. Have been very happy. Thing is crazy accurate... Cut one hole at 100 all day

I would avoid heavy barrels. Stick with an M4 profile.

I personally would go with a matched billet upper/lower set.

Daniel defense, BCM or Noveske barrel.

                      Noveske NSR rail.

                      Daniel Defense LPK.

                      Geisselle SD-C trigger.

VLTOR A5 buffer system with Emod stock.

                      Smith Vortex Flash Hider.

Or just buy a Colt, BCM or Daniel Defense rifle.

Personally I would buy a factory built battle rifle.

White oak makes a good barrel also.

I was trying to talk him into a DD. I think they make the best rifle in that price range. I'm a HUGE fan of Daniel Defense and their rifles. But he's dead set on a "build"
