    Hand loading questions $$$

I was given a Dillon Square Deal with 44 Mag dies. I dont own a 44 Mag, so its going to cost me $170 to get it set up for 9mm and .38sp. Is this press that nice that I should spend that coin or should I sell the whole set up and throw some cash in on something different? I will have to buy something different for rifle loads regardless. Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure about dillon. You might look at RCBS they make good stuff.if you go with new

As said, stay with the Dillon!! I purchased my 550 in 1990. It has loaded literally 10's of thousands of rounds (shot handgun competition for several years averaging 400-500 rounds per week).

Kind of hard to beat a lifetime unlimited warranty!

its blue and says dillon, so people will nut up on it. theyre good quality, but its another ford/checvy debate. since you dont have a 44mag, then remove that conversion and sell it once you get the other two. you should be able to recoup close to half of your two kits. the hard part is picking the platform. since it was given to you, what else was passed along? the 170 is just the beginning if you dont have powder measure, scales, etc

I personally own and load on two Dillon 550's. The Square Deal press is Dillon's intro level press. Its a good basic press. Me, I would sell it as is and buy a Dillon 550 ready to go in what ever caliber you wanted. Takes about 10 mins to switch calibers.
