Design my gun / archery room

I have a blank canvas here. Walls are Aspen that is clear coated only and the floor is dark wood.

I picture 2 safes in the corner that has the notch out and cabinets on that end wall and down part of 1 long wall. These cabinets will have a chair cut out where I can set at my reloading press. Possible an island in the middle for gun vise work (cleaning, scope mounting etc) and also for a portable bow press.

If you are getting two safes I would put them side by side and anchor them to each other, the wall and build the reloading table next to them and anchor the table to the safes. I wouldn't even worry about anchoring them to the ground and tearing up the wood floor.

Put both of them on that 10 foot wall, they will take up most of the wall then build a reloading bench in a L shape down the rest of the wall and down part of the other. It keeps more things in arms reach if your standing in a corner.

Should the island be closed underneath for storage or open underneath to I can pull up a stool and sit to work?

Sweet setup. I am going to have a similar room in my new house so I'll probably steal some ideas.

Put the safes in a corner with the hinged side of the door away from the corner, this will limit the effectiveness of any prying of the door that may be attempted.

I like the ideas of the island in the middle, not sure if I would have room but you certainly do. IMO more storage space is always a plus so if it were me, I would have it made with doors at least on one side. I suppose you could leave the other side open for using a stool, but I don't find myself working on anything long enough to need to sit down.
