    6.5 x284 ammo?

How hard is it to get ammo for a 6.5x284? A buddy is wanting to trade me guns but wanted to do some research.

Not really. Midway has it. It's not cheap.

Maybe you should think about reloading.

I'm looking to have a rifle re-chambered to it and ammo is limited in what is offered.

My thought is it's really best suited to hand loading.

Guys I got my dies in and am set up to reload. What is the best bullet to reload for my 6.5x284 for hunting besides Berger.

Just about any bullet that you normally hunt with.

I like the Nosler Accubonds and they're making a 130 Long Range Accubond that I'm looking to try.

What Slick8 said. Stay with the medium to light weight bullets. Most of the heavier bullets were made for the .264 Win Mag. No need to pay premium prices for premium bullets. Standard, run of the mill hunting ammo works fine. I've been shooting a 6.5 Swede since I was 16 (70 now). It's a great round for N. American game. I have a .270, 30-06, and a .35 Whelen and the 6.5 is my go to gun. Bought it in 1959 (30 bucks, things have changed) cut the stock down, and went for it. Need to put a scope on it soon, by eyesight ain't what it used to be. Comes with age. 70 working real hard on 71.
