    Anyone use a .450 Bushmaster?

I bought a .450 Bushmaster a couple weeks ago. I can actually use it here in Indiana. We have weird restriction on what we can use. Mine is a 16 inch model. I have a lLeopold vx-1 3-9x40 on it. Right now I have only shot it at 25 and 50 yards. I am going to check what it will do at 100 tomorrow I hope.
If anyone could chime there exp. With this round and how you have yours setup. This thing would lay hogs out. I will try it out on some does next week.

No experience with it, but I looked at the 450 shells today at Cabelas........ It will handle anything in North America brother...... dont even waste them.

I need to buy a couple more boxes so I can do some real practice to the outer limits of this round. I only plan to use it from 25-250 yards. Really you might be able to stretch it further but you would really have to guess where it was going to drop. I also think anything that was no further than 200 yards would die pretty quickly no matter how big it was. Be like using a 150 grain black powder load. with less recoil.

I've used one for about 5 years. One of my favorite rounds.
My farthest shot was around 150 yards, most are between 40 to 100.
        It's a 16 inch with a muzzle break, using a Mueller 4 x 16 scope.
In my experience a lung shot on a Texas deer, may or not cause the round to expand.
I prefer a neck shot on deer and hogs. When hit, they never take a step, dead right there.

I have one set up with a Nikon shotgun scope. Slug ballistics are pretty close to the .450 so it makes the circles work out about right. And yes, it is a hog killer !
