I dont like the XD at all. The gun feels cheap, the grips are slick, and fewer rounds. The XDM is a lot better. Better grip, more rounds, exchangeable back straps

That being said if the choice is between an MP and XDM, Then I would go with the MP. They are close to $100 cheaper.

I like M&Ps and Glock though.

They will all suit you well. I bougt a M&P and love it. The trigger will smoothen out with use. Up until recently it was hard to find extra magazines so keep that in mind. Made in USA what more could you ask for?

I'm considering the M&P or or XD what are your opinions on the two

I have shot and handled both and they are both good guns. I bought an M&P it just felt better in hand to me more comfortable.
